Winning wines of the III Edition of the International African Wine and Spirits Contest (AIWSC)

The results of the III Edition of the AIWSC have just been published, which was held again in Equatorial Guinea from November 21 to 29, whose edition had events for the first time in the continental part of the country (Bata).

The national company Bioko Wine Import (BWI), once again organized the African International Wine Competition, which kicked off with a Pairing Dinner at the recently inaugurated Hotel Pan África, located in the city of Bata, where attendees were able to enjoy a unique event, accompanied by wines and spirits brought to Equatorial Guinean lands by the organization, to the delight of those present; and whose conclusion was in the capital city of Malabo, with the professional tasting, which awards the medals to the winners, and a final Masterclass given by the President of the contest, the winemaker and businessman José Ramón Carlón.

This year’s medals have been less contested in previous years, since due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has not been possible to exceed the number of samples of the second edition, and that the most experienced judges, when be based in areas strongly affected by the pandemic, they have not been able to travel to Malabo to be present at the professional tasting, held on November 28.

In any case, and in the face of all predictions and cancellation forecasts, BWI has been able to successfully complete yet another edition of this contest, which is increasingly recognized, and which has multiple support, both institutional and from the private sector. , and that is called to be an element of claim for nationals, expatriates and tourists in the near future. And it is that wine has a global roots, with the exception of some Islamic countries, which is not just another drink, but is a symbol since ancient times.
